Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers contribute significantly to the protection and preservation of the unique environment at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, and provide education programs to visiting groups. Our volunteers share a love of the coast and marine life, and offer their time to help others.
Here are some of the many ways to get involved:
- Participate in conservation work parties for such things as removing non-native invasive vegetation and beach
clean up.
Assist instructors for the educational programs such as the Junior Ranger programs.
Help with publicity for Reserve events and training programs.
Staff the visitor center on weekends which frees the rangers to attend to the general operation of the Reserve.
- Participate in the Tidepool Docent program. Weekday volunteers lead tours for school groups, sharing their knowledge and interesting facts with the children. Weekend volunteers can also lead tours, or interact with visitors by identifying creatures and sharing information.
